Initially, Frank did not see a way out of his current financial situation. He wanted an additional income and was taking a look at a work from home business. He had bills up to his eyeballs and his expectations for his job weren’t promising. He had been an insurance salesman for his entire 20 year career. Now approaching his mid forties, it was not looking good for him to keep his job and definitely if he kept his job he might now not get a raise.

Frank had been gratefully married to his college sweetheart, Jane. They had three children, one boy and two girls. He enjoyed being a father and liked being around his children. He had coached his son, Jason’s, football group and actually enjoyed the time he had. Frank’s family debt had all started to increase. It wasn’t like they had taken expensive holidays or had a brand new car. They were blessed with two cars but they continuously needed repairs. His two girls have been into dance and cheerleading and Frank and Jane had decided to send them to a good coaching center to get lessons. This priority had truly strapped them as a family. Frank convinced himself that he might cross into debt and have his kids feel free, then to deprive them of any of the great things in life.

Frank and Jane did not have the money to do anything special for their 10 year anniversary nor their 20th. Frank had determined that Jane was a unique lady and his excellent friend but the money simply was no longer there to treat her like a princess. Frank in reality sought to do something different for his 25th marriage anniversary and no doubt by 30 years.

Frank was also active in his church. He had enjoyed being around the men in the church. When the earthquake happened in Haiti in the early months of 2010, Frank really wanted to go and help. A group of men from his church were headed to the impoverished nation to give assistance to these people. Frank thought this would be something he could do. However he looked at his financial situation and certainly did not want to ask for any time off from work, so he passed up this great opportunity.

As mentioned earlier, Frank and Jane didn’t have a nice car. That is an understatement. Frank’s automobile was always breaking down and he was uncertain if it would last more then a couple of months. The prospect of attempting to shop for a brand new car was out of the question. The family funds simply can not hold any other expenditure, however Frank’s automobile was a ticking time bomb and would possibly fail at any time. In reality Frank intentionally does not permit his wife or kids to take his car for fear it might break down at any time.

All of these pressures have placed an incredible amount of stress on Frank. He looks at his life as a failure. He lives in constant fear that he will not be able to provide for his family. He certainly worries about having money for college for his kids or to be able to have a nice wedding for his girls. He wants to treat his family right and leave an inheritance but all of these seem to be unattainable.
