When it comes to network marketing, recruiting is the name of the game. Obviously marketing your business and generating leads is vital, but if you don’t know how to recruit it won’t matter how many leads you generate! There are so many ways people are taught to recruit people into their MLM businesses it can sometimes get confusing so I want to talk about some basic tips that can really help your recruiting skills. The tips and advice provided in this article are based on years of experience in the network marketing industry, seeing many people succeed and seeing many people fail.
Traditionally we as network marketers are taught to go out talk to friends and family, make a warm list of prospects, and basically just talk to and pitch your business opportunity to anyone who will listen. Here is the problem with that… it’s not recruiting! That is being a sales person trying to push your opportunity on people who aren’t the least bit interested in what your telling them. The first thing you really need to do is look for people who are actually interested in what you have to offer, but we’ll get into that another time. Lets go ahead and assume you already know how to generate leads and market your business, especially using the Internet which is a goldmine for network marketers!
Understand this… nobody wants to be sold, even if they are interested in your business. So you need to learn how to talk to your prospects without selling them anything, once again assuming your generating leads for your business. Ask yourself this question… How can your prospects benefit from joining you in your opportunity? Do you have real value to offer your prospects besides just another business opportunity? That is what they want. They don’t want just another network marketer pitching them another opportunity, they want to feel they can benefit by joining you. They want to feel that you can actually help them succeed.
When your prospects want more information about your opportunity, don’t just tell them how awesome your company products and compensation plan is because remember that’s not what they want to know. They want to know how they can benefit by joining you, so let them know that! This is a big mistake made by most network marketers. They just try everything they can to get people into their businesses without offer any real value to their prospects. Your prospect wants to feel confident that they can succeed with you, so let them know just how you plan to help them do that. Remember how big our industry is and realize that they could join any company under millions of other network marketer so make yourself stand out and give your prospects a reason to join you instead!
Remember this… people don’t join companies or opportunities, they join people. People join people they know, like and trust. Period. It doesn’t matter how great your company, products or comp plan is. Brand yourself as a leader, make yourself stand out as an expert in this industry, offer REAL VALUE to your prospects, and learn how to market yourself instead of just another business opportunity, and you will become a recruiting master.
