SEO is often split into two separate parts: On page and off page optimization.
A short explanation of on page SEO: Everything that we do on the page itself. What we want is for the search engines to know exactly what our site is about as soon as possible. It shouldn’t have to read the entire site to know what we are writing about.This makes it a lot easier to rank for a keyword.
In SEO, off page optimization basically has only one subject, namely backlinks. Backlinks are what makes the sites rank well. Without them, a site doesn’t stand a chance. The search engines consider backlinks votes for the quality of the site. The more votes we get, the better we rank. Just remember to get you keywords into the anchor text.
This is the simple way that I use to get traffic to my sites. You can do it just the same way. The biggest advantage of getting your traffic from the search engines in stead of social sites, is that the traffic is a lot more targeted. That means that the visitors are really looking for the information that you provide. If you in addition promote a product that is closely related to the subject of your site, you have a winner.
When you are happy with the traffic of your site, or just can’t think of any more keywords to rank for, move on to a new site. Do the same thing there, and move on again. Do this enough times and you will have a very nice income in the end.
