With eight active websites, I keep pretty busy. But, no matter how busy I get, I allocate at least four hours of my time each day to promoting my sites.
I have, literally, tried almost every known website promotion technique. Article marketing is my favorite because it is by far the most effective. But, only if it is done properly.
To get the kind of results you want from your article marketing efforts, keep these things in mind.
1. Your article titles are critical. Without a good title, nobody will even consider running an article on their site.
2. Do not write too formally or you will risk sounding stilted. But, avoid slang, especially if the nature of your website is such that you need to be taken seriously.
3. Be concise. Avoid going off on tangents.
4. Concentrate on writing articles about, or related to, the subject(s) of your website. But, write on general interest topics as well so you can get your articles in as many article directory sites as possible and maximize the number of website owners who will use them on their sites.
5. Your author’s box is where your text links go, along with a brief biographical statement about you. Ensure that the links are embedded in the best keywords for your site. If you are not confident you know what your best keywords are, use a keyword suggestion tool to find out. Google offers a good, free, online suggestion tool, as do others.
6. Proofread. Even one error in spelling or punctuation can prevent your article from being published.
Almost nothing can impact your search engine rankings as quickly as article marketing. Do it properly and you’ll see great results.
